Oil Facts FAQ
Where do these numbers come from?
The same live data feeding the rest of the site: EIA weekly and international series, Yahoo Finance daily closes, Baker Hughes' weekly rig count, and this site's own hand-curated, sourced reserve and chokepoint figures. Every card cites its source and date; nothing on this page is invented or estimated without saying so.
Why do the "Right Now" numbers keep changing?
They're computed fresh from the underlying data files every time this page is built, the same way the rest of the site's live prices and indicators work — so as WTI moves, the SPR is drawn down, or a new weekly EIA report lands, the figures here update automatically rather than going stale.
Can I use these facts on social media?
Yes — that's what the Copy button on each card is for. It copies a ready-to-post sentence with the figure, its date, and a source attribution. Feel free to share; a link back to worldoilmonitor.com is appreciated but not required.
