What is the price of oil today?

Where does the data on this site come from?
Futures prices come from Yahoo Finance quotes for the NYMEX and ICE contracts; weekly inventories, production, refinery runs, gas storage and retail fuel prices come from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA); rig counts come from Baker Hughes; positioning data from the CFTC; and headlines from public energy news feeds. Hand-curated tables, such as strategic reserves and proven reserves, carry their own source and date on each row.
How often is the data updated?
Futures quotes in the browser refresh every five minutes. The EIA weekly petroleum report is released on Wednesdays, the EIA natural gas storage report on Thursdays and the Baker Hughes rig count on Fridays; the cached datasets behind the pages are refreshed hourly, and every figure shows the date it refers to.
