OPEC+ Meeting FAQ
When is the next OPEC+ meeting?
The next confirmed OPEC+ meeting is November 1, 2026, per OPEC's own press release. OPEC+ does not publish a full-year calendar in advance — each meeting's closing statement names the date of the next one, so this page is updated as new dates are confirmed rather than on a fixed schedule.
How often does OPEC+ meet?
The core OPEC+ voluntary-adjustment countries (Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman as of late 2026) have been meeting roughly monthly through 2026 to review output levels. The full OPEC and non-OPEC membership holds a twice-yearly ministerial meeting, and the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) meets roughly every two months to review conformity data.
What is the JMMC?
The Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee is a standing group of OPEC+ oil ministers that reviews each country's actual production against its agreed level and reports on overall conformity with the Declaration of Cooperation. It does not usually set new quotas itself — that is done at the full ministerial meetings and the voluntary-adjustment countries' own sessions.
What actually happens at an OPEC+ meeting?
Ministers or their delegations review recent production data, current prices and demand/supply forecasts, then decide whether to hold, raise or cut the group's output targets for the following month or months. Through most of 2026 the voluntary-adjustment countries used these meetings to gradually restore the 1.65 million barrels a day of cuts they had announced in April 2023, a process OPEC said it completed with the September 2026 increase.
